Finding Time To Write | Strawberry-Lit Magazine

“I want to write a book, but I do not have the time. How do I find time to write my book?”

This is a common thing that many writers experience when wanting to tell their story. Finding time to write can seem impossible when we think of everything we have to deal with on a daily basis.

First, you must decide why do you want to write? This will keep you motivated. Knowing why you want to be a writer will drive you to write even when you do not feel like it.

Writing does not have to take hours if you do not have hours to spare. Try these techniques:

  • Write 30 minutes on your lunchbreak

  • Wake up a few hours early and write

  • Write just before bed

  • Use writing sprints and set aside time to write whatever comes to mind using a timer

You can write using notebook paper, apps on your cellphone, computer, or laptop.

When you are writing, don’t focus on making every sentence perfect or making sure it makes sense. You can always revise your work when you are finished.
