BOOKLIFE: Helping Indie Authors

BookLife taps the experience, integrity, and authority of Publisher’s Weekly to help Indie Authors achieve their goals.

BookLife is a website from Publisher’s Weekly dedicated to indie authors. According to their website, it provides a free and easy way to submit your self-published books to Publisher’s Weekly for review, and offers editorial content.

We could all use a lifeline to Publisher’s Weekly as Indie Authors. They are one of the most recognized names in the world of reviews for Best Selling Titles. When creating an account with BookLife you must upload your book’s content (title, author name, publisher, book cover, etc). They give three offers by the end of this set up which can best describe the stage your book is currently in. The three stages are Create, Publish, or Market.

Once you have uploaded the requested information, you have a profile with BookLife that will include a URL link to share with people if you like. This profile will allow people to follow your book as it goes through the three stages listed above.

While you have an account set up with them you can submit your book for review by Publisher’s Weekly. You can submit it eBook via PDF or you can send them a printed copy. Be prepared to wait. TIP: If I were you and I wanted to receive a Publisher’s Weekly Review I would send my book in six months before publication. That way your book will have a review back in time to promote or include on the cover of the book.

Some very important features offered by BookLife.com outside of reviews are

1) Book Fair Marketing. There are seven Book Exhibits they cater to in areas such as Denver, CO; London, UK; Chicago, IL; Orlando, FL; Beijing, China; Frankfurt, Germany; and Guadalajara, Mexico.

2) Quality Press Release Distribution for You Book. They have partnered with PR Newswire with discounts on distribution services.

3) PW Select. Put your book in front of tens of thousands of librarians, reviewers, booksellers and more. (See schedule and deadline dates)

4) Service Directory. On your profile you can list all your skills related to publishing.

BookLife was designed for Indie Authors, and is absolutely free. For more information, visit their website www.BookLife.com
