So, You Want To Be A Published Author?

As an author there are so many things I want to put in your tool belt, so much information I want to share. Yes, it is a rarity and you may not hear those words from many people without money being involved. But come on, some things in life should be given. They may not be FREE because with all things desired...wanted comes a price of some sort. But for the most part this will be worth hundreds of dollars and I am asking one thing, if you feel you can't do it give Brand New a try. If you believe you can then get a paper and pen and let's start with the basics.

Writer or Author? Choose!

Have You chosen? I will assume if you are still here, you want to be an author or at least choice to be a writer with aspirations in becoming a well-educated, knowledgeable author. There are stages to writing your first book and I want you to do a little homework before you start. First, I think setting the mood for writing should be a priority. Do what move YOU! Some work in complete silence, some need movement, sound even music.

Are you old school and preferred to write it in a journal? There are so many places to get journals from Dollar Tree to Barnes and Noble. Amazon is my favorite. To get your juices flowing you may even want to do a writing prompt.

Much is to be said about these prompt. What I do know is that they come easy especially because you don't have to think of your own topic.

Examples:

· What do you want your legacy to be?

· How has your imagination helped you?

This was suggested to me and sworn by: FREE on iTUNES

1. Write 2 Lite

Write 2 Lite is an ultimate note taking, writing & markdown editing app. It utilizes all of its great features to give you the best experience while typing on your iPhone & iPad.

2. Novel Idea

The other app is Novel Idea. I am a scatter brain, a brain that never stops thinking...building...dreaming! It can be extremely hard to stay on task and get all my thoughts out. So with a combination of Voice to text on my Galaxy Note 4- where I can talk out my ideas and it goes to text, Voice Recorder where it keeps my voice recorded thoughts and Novel Idea I can't go wrong.

Novel Idea allows you to break down your characters, their plots, plans and descriptions.

It helped me map out my yet to be finished book Cocaine Bobby. I was not ready to write it but the novel's idea (Wink) kept pulling and tugging at my sleeve. Here is a screen shot of its features.

This helped me with scene building, keeping track of locations and allowed me to jot in ideas. Ok. So now the one thing EVERY writer should have. There are two versions for this. You can get the basics for FREE or pay a small monthly fee.
